Fat bikes are cool. Not just for winter but also for outdoor adventures. They roll over terrain like a tank, and they’re just plain fun.
Anyway, while searching for current fat bike models, it became clear the market for them is growing rapidly. There were over 60 models to choose from. Moreover, a couple of major bike manufacturers (Kona, Norco, Specialize) are preparing to release fat bikes for 2014.
Nontheless, there are already a number models currently available from custom bike fabricators, local bike manufacturers, international bike manufacturers, and foreign bike manufacturers.

Notable Fat Bikes
For fun a few notes have been created.

The original fat bike that started the wide tire revolution. The Surly Pugsley is still very popular despite increased competition as it works well and is fun to ride!
Most Unique Fat Bike: Carver TRANS-Fat
The Carver TRANS-Fat is a full-suspension fat bike! Wow, that’s quite the engineering feat.
Coolest Fat Bike Name: Fat Sand Bikes Ultimate Terrain Destroyer TI 22
The Fat Sand Bikes Ultimate Terrain Destroyer TI 22 is a long cool name. It’s ultimate, it’s made of titanium, and it destroys terrain! Alas, it is in name only. There are better fat bikes out there for the money.
The 24” Fat Bike: On-One Baby Fatty
A fat bike with a low standover height for smaller cyclists! The On-One Baby Fatty will feature 24” wheels with 4” tires on a 12” frame.

Fatty Got Back
With all these fat bikes, Sir Mix-a-Lot’s Baby Got Back sprung to mind and a parody about fat bikes was composed.
(A CANbike parody of Sir Mix-a-Lot’s Baby Got Back)
I like fat bikes and I can not lie
You other brothers can’t deny
That when a bike rolls in with an itty bitty frame
And a round thing in your face
You get sprung, wanna pull out your tough
‘Cause you notice that tire was stuffed
Deep in the frame she’s bearing
I’m hooked and I can’t stop staring
Oh baby, I wanna get with you
And take your picture
My roadies tried to warn me
But that tire you got makes me so giddy
You say you wanna get on the trails?
Well, join me, join me
‘Cause you ain’t that average whirly
I’ve seen them rollin’
To hell with it snowin’
She’s sweat, wet,
Got it goin’ like a jumbo jet
I’m tired of weight weenies
Sayin’ slim tires are the thing
Take the adventure bike man and ask him that
She gotta pack much back
So, fellas! (Yeah!) Fellas! (Yeah!)
Has your bike got the fat? (Hell yeah!)
Tell ‘em to roll it! (Roll it!) Roll it! (Roll it!)
Roll that giant wheel!
Fatty got back!
