Fixed Gear off-road mountain biking is lots of fun as provides many new challenges. The only problem is the lack of resources. None of the local cyclists do this, and the local bike shops have to special order parts.
Well just the other day, a new cog was required. More specifically, a standard track cog (16T) with a 3/32" width. The local bike shop had none. In addition, many catalogues were browsed at the shop with little success in finding a cog to order.
Luckily, the cashier decided to search around for a distributor of the part. A call was received the next day to confirm the part, and it would take up to 7 business days to arrive. It arrived in 3 business days.
Anyway, track cogs should be common enough, but they aren't. It was time to compile a list for future reference. As a result, a list of fixed gear parts for mountain biking off-road was compiled. It includes hubs, cogs, lockrings, and bolt-on disc cogs! Options are limited though, since it is a niche sport.
